Our TBT for today is “OLEKU” from Ice Prince and Brymo. The hottest song of the year 2010! This jam was the harbinger of ginjah and ‘dope’ together; it was the song that helped Nigerian music lovers redefine that genre. While Ice Prince rapped bars away, while Brymo sang suavely from a river of new-tune. It wasn’t a surprise when the jam took flight through the charts and our hearts. You couldn’t just escape that badass hook by Brymo, the wayhe says “Ole-huuuu”. Ha- ha!

“Oleku” was released by Chocolate City on June 8, 2010. It is the first single from Ice Prince’s debut studio album Everybody Loves Ice Prince, and the third overall single released by the rapper.

Upon its release, the song became an instant success, gaining positive reviews from music lovers. The song was one of the most popular songs of 2010 along with Naeto C’s “Ten Over Ten” and D’banj’s “Scapegoat”. The song helped popularize the Minna native, so much he nicked awards for this song from almost every corner of the world. From BET, to MTV, to the Headies, and so on!
