The income of musicians greatly depend on what stage of their music career they are at. For example, well established musicians can earn thousands and thousands (if not millions) of dollars a year. These are the musicians at the top end of things; they do worlds tours, have multi-platinum albums, and are well known names.
On the other hand, if you’re just starting out and don’t have that much of a big name yet, you will find it hard to make any money from music career initially. In fact, when you are just starting out, you may actually find yourself going into minus figures. This is because you need to put down money to get everything in your music career set up. Studio time costs money, as does musical instruments, online music business courses, and the like.
Fear not though, if you know what you’re doing it’s possible to make that money back and earn at least a part time living for your efforts (if not more). You will of course need to be very talented, and know how to market your music properly. Not every musician will reach this stage, but if you put the work in and are talented, it is possible.
