7 songs from ‘Chocolate City’ Nigerians won’t forget

Going back to the list of record labels that have made a positive impact in the Nigerian  and African music industry, Chocolate City wont be excluded. Starting from their boss, MI who started the movement and put other on board, to the new kids on the block, ‘Koker’ and ‘Dice Ailes’, who have been dropping urban music for the Alte kids, Chocolate City is here to stay and it seems the sky isn’t their limit anymore as they have flourish across the nation.

Let’s throwback to some of their classic and evergreen songs that are sure to make you feel alright.

1. OLEKU – Brymo X Ice Prince

Oleku was the track that brought Ice Prince and Brymo into the limelight even though they’d been in the game for quite a while. When both the song and the visuals were dropped, it took over the airwaves as it was played on radio and Tv stations, everybody was addicted to it. While Brymo sang the chorus Ice Prince took the verses and spit some bars to deliver a good sound.

2. ARA – Brymo

This song was Brymo’s biggest song before he had some issue with the record label, Even though the chorus was sang in Yoruba, it was well accepted by various tribe in Nigeria as at that time. In this track, Brymo shows us that his style of music is totally different from the norm with his fast tempo ballad style of singing.

MI and Brymo once again collaborated to deliver an inspiring tune, it would be fair to say anyone who doesn’t like this song should have their Nigerian title removed. Even if you’re not a fan of the duo, i’m sure this banger would make you put on our dancing shoes.

4. ABOKI – Ice Prince

Ice Prince remembered his roots on this track as he spit out some Hausa bars on us. It’s safe to say he opened the door for indigenous Northern rappers because after Aboki dropped some new Hausa acts started coming up. He further took a step by doing the remix of the song and even did another version of the song and called it VIP. This is another track we won’t be forgetting anytime soon.
