5 Wizkid songs that would make you come closer

Wizkid  delved into the music scene back in 2010, ever since, Starboy has not looked back, with various hits nominated for and various accolades won from different country., no doubt he’s the king of Afro Pop in Nigeria.

Without much ado, we’ve reviewed and outlined the 5 biggest songs from Wizkid


1. Jaiye Jaiye

A song discovered from the deep roots of the Afrobeat genre, Wizkid and Femi Kuti channeled the Fela’s signature sound to dish out what was the biggest hit in 2013, indeed, it was well received by the masses.

2. Ojuelegba

Off the AYO (Joy) album which was released in 2014,  Ojuelegba was presented to us, this is the song that went from a sleeper hit, to being an international pass for Starboy’s career. Ojuelegba became a massive hit after Canadian rapper, Drake included some rap bars on it.

3. Come Closer

Come Closer was released in 2017, the song is another landmark in Wizkid’s career. Come Closer is the Starboy’s biggest collaboration, the song was released on his third album; Sounds From The Other Side (SFTOS),, though Drake never come closer when the visuals was released.

4. Azonto

Although Wizkid wasn’t the first artist to attempt musical expression on the Ghana-Nigeria sound, he was one of the very few artistes to give the “Azonto” some popularity. The song was released as a freestyle track but nobody cared, it went on to gather a heavy buzz here in Nigeria and across the continent.

5. Holla at your boy

Wizkid bursted onto the scene with “Holla at your boy” under the now defunct EME label. Holla At Your Boy gave us a glimpse of what Wizkid would eventually become. It would be hard to omit this classic tune when discussing Wizzy’s career.
