5. Olamide – 22 awards

Olamide but popularly called Olamide Baddo, is a Nigerian hip hop recording artist. Many say he has been a blessing to the Nigerian music industry since he’s breakout

In 2012, at the Headies Awards, he was also nominated for Hip World Revelation of the Year and Best Rap Single. His album “Rapsodi” was nominated for Best Rap Album.

After missing out in 2011 and 2012, Olamide got his first set of awards at the 2013 Nigeria Entertainment Awards as he won up to 4 awards in one night.

In 2015, things went a little up when it comes to awards. Olamide received at least 10 out of 12 known nominations he got at different awards shows. In 2011, he was nominated for Next Rated at the Headies Award.

4. Dbanj – 29 Awards

D’banj is a Nigerian recording artist and harmonica player widely known for his contributions to the African Music Industry. Born and raised in Zaria, D’banj came to prominence following the release of his debut album “No Long Thing (2005)”.

He won the Best Newcomer award at the 2006 Channel O Music Video Awards for “Tongolo”, a song off his aforementioned album. In 2005, D’banj won the Most Promising Male Artist award at the 2005 Kora Awards. His Oliver Twist song is listed as one the top afrobeats songs of all time.

D’banj is regarded as an icon in the Nigerian music industry and has won a total of 29 awards with over 87 nominations.

Among them are 6 Channel O Music Video Award, 4 Headies Awards, 4 MTV Africa Music Awards, 2 MTV Europe Music Awards, 3 Nigerian Entertainment Awards, one BET Award, 2 Ghana Music Award, one KORA Award, one MOBO Award, one Nigerian Music Video Award, one Soundcity Music Video Award, one World Music Award.

3. Davido – 46 Awards

David Adeleke popularly known as Davido is a Nigerian recording artist. As at the time of the writing of this post, he has received a total of 46 awards with over about 150 nominations. He is arguably the biggest Afrobeats artist we have now.

He is a recipient of a BET Award, a KORA Award, a Channel O Music Video Award, a Ghana Music Award, a Nigeria Music Video Award, 2 MTV Africa Music Awards , 2 African Muzik Magazine Awards, 8 The Headies Awards , 7 Nigeria Entertainment Awards, 2 Dynamix All Youth Awards, 4 BillBoards Awards, one MOBO Award, one Soul Train Awards 7 city People Entertainment Awards, and 5 MTV Europe Awards.

2. Wizkid – 51 Awards

Wizkid is a very popular Nigerian artist, with a lot of Accolades. He was ranked 6th on Forbes and Channel O’s 2018 list of the Top 10 Richest/Bankable African Artists.

Moreover, he became the first Afrobeats artist to appeared in the 2018 Guinness World Records for his contribution to Drake’s hit song “One Dance”.

As at the time of this post, Wizkid has won a total of 51 awards with over 177 nominations. The awards he has received include a Grammy Award, 7 Headies Awards, one BET Award, 2 Ghana Music Awards, 6 Nigeria Entertainment Awards, 2 MOBO Awards, 2 Channel O Music Video Awards, 2 City People Entertainment Awards, 2 African Muzic Magazine Awards, 2 Dynamix All Youths Awards, one 4Style TV Music Video Awards, one The Future Awards.
