Former Ebonyi Utter governor and at the moment Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, on Wednesday, stopped some facet road construction within the South-East space, pending the evaluation of the existing and extra contracts.
Umahi gave the directive on Thursday in Enugu Utter during the inspection of some ongoing construction/rehabilitation of federal roads during states within the South-East.
The minister expressed alarm that four bridges and three kilometres of extra work had been costing N15 billion.
“I possess directed directors within the ministry to sit down down with the contractors and evaluation it.
“I strongly imagine that there is now not any design that the mission will label us better than three to four billion naira, and when a mission is honest too costly, and the budgeting job is terribly low, then contractors will reside on space for 10 to 15 years,” he acknowledged.

Others had been the improvement of the Nenwe-Nomeh-Mburubu -Nara facet road with a spur from Obeagu-Oduma facet road, Enugu Utter, Rehabilitation of Nsukka -Ikem, Eha Amufu – Nkalagu in Ebonyi Utter among others.
Umahi counseled the quality of work completed on one of the necessary roads in Enugu, adding that he stopped sure payments till contractors, and the ministry reviewed the existing contracts and extra works.
The extinct Ebonyi governor acknowledged he stopped price of RCC and Arab Contractors till they all sit down down to examine the cost of the projects and suggestions of construction.
He equally gave the contractor going through the Mmaku facet road seven days to design assist to the distance to duvet the binder course.
He also directed that the beautiful-hand facet of the Enugu-Onitsha freeway be completed with concrete to construct charges.
